For this product, we offer the “Rubber Only” and the “Rubber Edge Kit”.

The “Rubber Only” is intended to be a replacement rubber set for those who have been using our rubber edge kit and need to replace it.

The Rubber Edge Kits are for those owners who are removing the plows steel edge and desire to upgrade their plow to the Best rubber edge plow kit on the market.

Deere doesn’t sell these rubber edge kits for these plows. They offer just the OEM steel edges as a replacement.

Deere does offer a basic rubber squeegee for the 54” plow under part number M42868, which they sell for $100. It’s only 3” tall by ½ “ thick rubber edge.

Our Standard rubber edge for the 54” plow is 4” tall and 1/2” thick, or 33% taller than Deere’s only edge offering an d our edge includes new corrosion resistant hardware. Our Standard rubber edge sells for $115.

The Extreme Duty Rubber Plow Edge includes

Who is this Extreme Rubber Plow Edge Kit for?

Those responsible for frequent snow clearing at facilities such as Medical centers, Schools, Municipal buildings,Churches, etc than this edge is set made for the demands you will place upon it. It’s also for the plow owner who simply wants the very best.

The 54” and 60” Plows “Extreme Duty Rubber” is the rubber made and machined to be mounted and provide two complete wear surfaces. When the first edge is worn, the edge can be unbolted and turned upside down for double sided wear.

Deere doesn’t make any other edges for these plows, which is a shame as it limits the use and function of these plows. So I decided to design and produce a range of plow edges for these plows. These options include;

• Standard Rubber edges for basic use

• Heavy Duty or Commercial Grade rubber edges for heavy use

• Extreme Duty Rubber edge which can handle extensive plow use.

• Variations of the UHMW Composite plow edge in single sided, double sided as well as thicknesses of the UHMW which serve a range of needs from residential tasks to heavy commercial use.

• Rubber Plow top flap to enhance the plows function and operation.

• We even produce versions of the steel edge for those who need of desire to use them.

• We have greatly expanded the range of function, uses and tasks for these plows, which benefits their owners.

Edge Mounting straps are precision machined for perfect fit

We custom machine a UHMW mounting strap for this plow to hold the rubber edges. The edges have vertical adjustment as the edge is used so you can maintain the ideal amount of plow rubber under the plow edge. Ideally, you will want to adjust the rubber edge when you install it, so there is 1.75 to 2” rubber edge material under the plows base. Then adjust the edge with use, to get the best wear and use results.

Using Stainless Hardware assures easy future edge adjustments

We use Stainless steel carriage bolts to install this rubber edge and to also make sure it properly holds the plow edge. The stainless hardware doesn’t corrode or rust, so the plow edge can be adjusted and when the time arrives, the rubber edge can be flipped over and that becomes another new plow edge. A plow outfitted in this way is going to be able to handle any snow conditions it faces.

One example of this type of use is we work with school districts who use these plows on garden tractors as well as the 1025r tractors for plowing all of their walks and small paved areas. They plow pavement on the school property and they must keep the pavement as clear as they can.

Installation is easy and this edge provides a very capable and efficient snow clearing experience. Preferred by most plow owners, this high grade rubber edge cleans the pavement, while not making the banging and scraping sounds and causing damage and abrasion to your driveway.

Important Notes about these products

Stainless Steel hardware Installation and Use Tips

• Avoid using impact tools on stainless steel hardware as the speed of the tool builds heat in the hardware finish.

• This heat can cause “galling” of the hardware which can result in the hardware “cold welding” itself, which you want to avoid.

• Always lubricate hardware before installation and prior to its removal with a silicone of other appropriate lubricant.

• Please use proper torque settings as outlined in the instructions.

• Please avoid over tightening the hardware as it distorts the edges and can damage the UHMW edge mounting straps.

• Impact tool use can also damage the square holes in the mounting straps by “pounding” on them, making the holes has less holding strength.

• Always install all of the hardware finger tight and make sure the edges are in place and properly squared to the plow edge before tightening.

• We suggest always tightening our plow edge hardware with the center bolt first, then one bolt right of center, then one left of center. Continue this alternating until all bolts are properly tightened. Using this method results in a smooth and properly flush rubber edges and mounting straps.

Using as a replacement rubber edge for our other Rubber Edge Kits

• Please order the Extreme Duty Plow Edge replacement rubber edge ONLY if you have been using one of our SBS Plow Rubber edge Kits on your plow. This rubber requires specific clamping straps to hold the rubber correctly on the plow and these straps are used in our other Plow Rubber kits.

• If you have been using our SBS Standard Duty Rubber edge kits and desire to upgrade to the heaviest rubber edge we offer in this Extreme Duty Kit, you can use the rubber edge straps from our OTHER duty kits. If you have any questions, please contact us.
