Our Extreme Duty Blade Edge kit for the BigToolRack snow blade is a rubber edge designed to completely replace the steel edge on your plow.

Our Blade Edge Kit includes the following for your BigToolRack Blade;

• A Multi layer Rubber Plow Edge to achieve optimal clearing and the longest wear life.

• Our laser cut rubber edges will fit perfectly on the BTR blade

• We offer the rubber edges ONLY, for those already running our rubber edge kit and needing a replacement wear edge.

• A custom made UHMW or Metal strap to secure the rubber edge to the blade and allow easy adjustment of the blade edge with use.

• All Marine Grade, Stainless Steel Hardware, which is the most corrosion resistant specialty hardware available.

• This Stainless Hardware assures easy installations, trouble free wear adjustments and flipping over the wear edges when worn, so you get the optimal wear life out of your Extreme Duty Kit.

• (2) 6” tall x 3/4” thick rubber plow edge, professionally machined for optimal fit for 1.5” of rubber edge under the plow

• (2) 6” tall x ¾ ” thick rubber plow edges for a total of 1.5” of rubber under the plow, professionally machined for optimal fit

• UHMW Strap to secure the Rubber Plow edge on the BTR plow

• Full Set of Marine Grade, Stainless Steel Corrosion Resistant hardware including carriage bolts, washers and Nylock nuts.

For the 90” BTR Front End Loader mounted Plow, our Heavy Duty rubber Plow Edge kit includes

• 8” tall x 1” thick rubber plow edge, professionally machined for optimal fit OR

• (2) 3/4” x 6” thick rubber plow edges, professionally machined for optimal fit and to have 1.5” of rubber under the plow.

• The plow owner should decide which edge based upon their pavement condition. If they desire to push snow onto lawn areas or grass, the 2 layers of 3/4” will be more flexible and less likely to damage the lawn. If the owner has rough pavement which has numerous repairs or extensive pavement transition areas with edges, bumps, surface repairs, etc. then they should stay with the 1” single layer edge.

• Also note, the 1” thick single layer edge is 8” tall, so its going to have more wear life with the extra rubber material to wear off the plow.

• Normally, our 6” tall rubber edges have 2” of vertical adjustment on the plow rubber. The 8” tall rubber edge is going to have 4” of vertical slots machined into the rubber for extended wear life and additional adjustments.

• Please note, the 90” long 1” thick, 8” tall plow edge weighs nearly 40 pounds just for the rubber edge.

Our Extreme Duty Rubber Plow edge kit replaces the steel plow edge on your blade. Replacing the steel wear edge on your plow has the following immediate benefits

• Our Plow Edge Kits are complete with all hardware, instructions and the parts are all machined for perfect fit. No need to cut, drill or grind on anything like most others.

• No more surface grinding or abrasion.

• Stops damage to the asphalt sealer and top level surface.

• No more rust on the pavement, No more banging when the plow edge catches an expansion joint or other elevated pavement surface.

• Quiet, smooth snow clearing without the pavement abrasion and banging noises of the steel plow edge

• Clears the moisture from the pavement and allows the pavement to dry more quickly. This prevents ice build up and helps clear the pavement more efficiently.

• Removing the moisture from the pavement reduces water in the pavement cracks, which leads to freeze and thaw cycles and pavement damage.

• The rubber plow edge handles pavement transition far better and safer. The blade trips less as the rubber edge will pass over the small height variations where the steel edge won’t.

Installation Time to Install our plow edge kit

• 20 to 40 minutes for most operators, can be longer for plows with extensive use history.

• Uses Basic Hand tools

• Our Kit uses all SAE Hardware for easy installation

• Customers LOVE the rubber plow edges and UHMW plow edges and never want to return to the steel wear edge.

• Please AVOID over tightening the hardware for these plow edge kits as it displaces the rubber and can damage the kit contents.

• We also discourage the use of Impact Guns as they spin the hardware too fast and build heat in the Stainless Hardware finish, which can Gall and “cold weld” the hardware.

• The LAST THING you want to have to do is cut off Stainless Hardware which is frozen in place due to galling or cold welding.

• Make sure to ALWAYS lubricate all stainless and corrosion resistant hardware when tightening and removing the hardware to protect it against hardware finish damage.

• If you buzz the bolts on and off with an impact or pound on the hardware with the impact and exceed the torque levels of the bolts, you can make the corrosion resistant finish heat up and lock up the hardware. Don’t do it, as cutting off Stainless Bolts is very difficult and frustrating and time consuming. Simply install the hardware with hand tools, don’t over tighten and don’t “BUZZ” the bolts on and off.

Expected Wear Duration

For our Extreme Duty Kits, we would expect the owner should be able to plow is 1,000 to 1,400 typical residential driveways. That’s a drive which is >300’ in length, >14’ in width and total pavement area of 5,500 sq ft.

Most homeowners plowing their own driveway and one or two neighbors will find our Extreme Duty Rubber Plow edges will last for 1,300 to 1,500 residential drives. I have used these same edges and achieved 1,900+ residential drives with this same wear edges.

These are only estimates and actual results will vary. Its very important your tractor is proper ballasted and balanced front to rear to handle this large of a plow and wear edge.

All of our Rubber and UHMW Plow Wear edges are Double sided, so you can flip over the wear edge and double the wear life of the plow. Avoid excessive down pressure and extend the plows wear life. If you always put the plow in float or apply excessive down pressure with the rubber plow edges to “scrape” on the pavement, its going to reduce the wear life of the rubber edge material.

Our blade edge kit is a very durable rubber which is designed to quietly clear the pavement. It eliminates the banging and scraping of the blade on the pavement. It also prevents damage to the pavement surface, so it won't scrape the asphalt sealer or surface nor will it harm the concrete surface. We use this edge on asphalt, concrete, brick pavers, imprinted concrete, even exterior ceramic tile. Customers who switch to this edge love it.
