Frontier AF11E, AF11D and AF11G and AF12D and AF12G Plows
These listings are for the following plow sizes for the 72”, 84”, 96”, 108”, 120” plows

It’s very important to understand that to properly make a plow edge kit, you must consider the plows width as well as its operating weight. Since these plows are made for different size tractors, look at the tremendous difference in the plows weight based upon the plows width.

The smallest plow in this category is 72” wide and weighs 480 pounds while the plow at 84” of width weighs 730 pounds and the plow which is 96” of width, has an operating weight of 830 pounds.

In order to provide a plow edge which can stand up to the challenges of use in the plows environment, the plow edges must be properly sized to the plows width and the plows operating weight. The Rubber Plow Edge which is ideal for a plow weighing 255 pounds would wear out quickly on a plow weighing 830 pounds, or nearly 3.5 X the weight of the lighter plow. Here is a listing of these Frontier Plows and their listed operating weight.

Frontier AF10F plow 60” wide weighs 255 pounds

Frontier AF11E plow 72” wide weighs 480 pounds

Frontier AF11D plow 84” wide weighs 730 pounds

Frontier AF11G plow 96” wide weighs 830 pounds

At SulleyBear Solutions, we offer 3 Rubber Plow edge Categories based upon the owners need and demands they place on their plow. These Categories are

Its for the plow owner who plows often and appreciates a great plow edge kit to maximize their plow. They also want to upgrade their plow significantly over the steel plow wear edge which came on the plow when new. Often the plow owner buying our Heavy Duty or Severe Duty Kits, like the very best and appreciate the quality and improved performance as a result.

Our Extreme Duty Edge Kits are listed under their own headings on another listing. Please see the Standard Duty and Extreme Duty product listings for product details to determine which one is best for you.

Our plow edges are placed in these categories, but the actual construction of the plow edge kits is going to be based upon the plows size and weight and the edge category. The larger (wider) the plow, the heavier the plow rubber from our company is going to be. It’s amazing that many who sll plow

As an Example, the 72” Frontier AF11E plows in our Standard Duty Category would have a rubber plow edge which is 3/4” thick, 6” tall and 72” long. Our plow rubber for this plow weighs 23 pounds.

The Deere rubber edge for the same plow is also 3/4” thick and 6” tall and weighs 17 pounds, or nearly 30% less. This is very important because the more dense and heavier the rubber, the longer it lasts and the better it clears pavement. Wait until you see the price difference.

Here is a breakdown of our Heavy Duty kits for 72” wide Plows for Frontier.

  • 2 rubber edges, 6” tall, 1/2” thick, totaling 1” wide and 72” long

  • Our Included rubber edge for this plow weighs 25 pounds.

  • Deere’s Frontier edge is a single layer rubber edge 3/4” thick x 6” tall and weighing 15 pounds.

  • Summary, our SBS 72” Heavy Duty Rubber edge is 1/4” thicker than the the 3/4” edge from Deere and our rubber edge weighs 10 pounds more. This provides longer wear life.

Our Heavy Duty Kits for the 84” Wide Frontier Plows are produced with

  • a (2) layer of 1/2” rubber edge, for a total of 1” of rubber on the pavement,

  • Deere maintains the 3/4” thick single layer edge.

  • Our SBS 84” Wide Plows weigh 28 pounds.

  • The Deere only rubber edge kit is 3/4” thick and weighs 17 pounds.

  • Summary, the SBS 84” wide Standard Duty Plow Kit is 1” thick and 11 pounds heavier than the rubber edge offered from Deere for this plow.. This is a significant difference.

Our Heavy Duty Kits for the 96” wide Frontier Plows are produced with

  • (1) 3/4” thick rubber edge and a second (1) Layer 1/2” rubber edges, for a total rubber layer of 1.25”.

  • Our 96” of this Standard Edge weighs 31 pounds where the Deere rubber edge remains at 3/4” x 6” and weighs 20 pounds.

  • Summary, the SBS 96” Standard Duty Plow Kit is 1.25” thick and 25% thicker than the Deere edge and our rubber edge weighs 10 pounds more.

Our Heavy Duty Kit for the 108” plow uses a base edge kit which has

  • (1) 3/4” thick edge x 6” tall and (1) 1/2” thick edge x 6” tall

  • (bringing our rubber wear edge to 1.25” of rubber

  • Our plow rubber for this plow which weighs 35 pound.

  • The Deere Frontier edge is still a single layer 3/4” x 6” tall weighing 23 pounds.

  • This Plow has 1.25” thick to the Deere’s 3/4” thick rubber. Our rubber edges weigh 12 pounds, or nearly 1/3rd more than the Deere rubber edge.

Our largest plow, the 120” plow which wears our

  • Single Layer 1” thick edge x 8” tall rubber edge, This rubber is taller as well and very well suited to This single layer is suited to the larger width plow.

  • This 1” rubber edge is suited for the largest plows only, as it needs the plow’s weight to work the rubber correctly.

  • This next size rubber is even heavier per foot of length and it weighs a total of 51 pounds. The Deere Frontier edge remains the single 3/4” x 6” tall layer weighing 28 pounds.

  • A plow 10’ wide and weighing over 1,200 pounds can’t use the same rubber wear edge as a plow weighing 25% of this plows total weight. Yet the Deere plow continues to use the same size plow rubber on plows from 60” wide to 120” wide. We do not subscribe to this same theory and feel the plows rubber edge should be increased as the plow’s width and weight increase. Our plow edge results bear out this fact with its excellent wear characteristics and long life.

  • Summary, our base level rubber edge in our H.D. Plow Edge for the 120” plow is 1,” thick and outweighs the Deere layer by nearly twice the weight. When you see and feel the difference in the plow rubber, it becomes apparent which plow rubber is vastly superior………

Simple facts to keep in mind when buying plow edges for your Frontier Plow.

  • The larger (wider) the plow, the more its going to weigh.

  • As plows get wider, they generally get taller as well. Even small height increases add crucial weight which must be considered.

  • Deere’s rubber edge for their 72” plow is the same thickness and height as the rubber edge on their 120” plow. The 72” plow weighs 255 pounds. The 120” Frontier Plow weighs 1,180 to 1,320 pounds, which is a 1,000 pounds more than the 72” Plow.

  • You can not expect the 3/4” plow rubber to support a plow weighing 300 pounds and also one weighing 1,300 pounds.

  • On some plow sizes, our Heaviest Duty edge kit, the Extreme Duty edge, sells for about the same money which Deere charges for their only kit, which is lighter duty than our Standard Duty Kits.

  • These Rubber and UHMW Edge Kits are expensive. Don’t waste your money getting a lighter duty edge and spending more money to get it.

Please make sure to read our Plow Information page which outlines which of our Rubber Edge Kits are best for each client. We profile the clients and point out who should consider our Standard Duty Kits, or Heavy Duty Kits and Our Extreme Duty Kits/

Remember, these important details about our Heavy Duty Rubber Edge Kits.

  • All of our rubber edge are double sided so they can be flipped over, including those rubber edges used in pairs on the plows.
