Our Extreme Duty Kits for the 84” Wide Frontier Plows are produced with
a (2) layer of 3/4” rubber edge, for a total of 1.5” of rubber on the pavement,
Deere maintains the 3/4” thick single layer edge.
Our SBS 84” Wide Plows weigh 36 pounds.
The Deere only rubber edge kit is 3/4” thick and weighs 17 pounds.
Summary, the SBS 84” wide Standard Duty Plow Kit is 1.5” thick and 19 pounds heavier than the rubber edge offered from Deere for this plow.. This is a significant difference.
Our Extreme Duty Kits for the 96” wide Frontier Plows are produced with
(2) 3/4” thick rubber edges for a total rubber layer of 1.5”.
Our 96” of this Extreme Duty Edge weighs 39-40 pounds where the Deere rubber edge remains at 3/4” x 6” and weighs 20 pounds.
Summary, the SBS 96” Standard Duty Plow Kit is 1.5” thick and 100% thicker than the Deere edge and our rubber edge weighs 20 pounds more or double the weight of the Deere sold edge.
Our Extreme Duty Edge Kit for the 108” plow uses a base edge kit which has
(2) 3/4” thick edge x 6” tall
bringing our rubber wear edge to 1.5” of rubber

The Deere Frontier edge is still a single layer 3/4” x 6” tall weighing 23 pounds.
This Plow has 1.5” thick to the Deere’s 3/4” thick rubber. Our rubber edges weigh 20+ pounds, or nearly double the Deere rubber edge.
Our largest plow, the 120” plow Extreme Duty Edge which wears our
Single Layer 1” thick edge x 8” tall rubber edge, This rubber is taller as well and very well suited to This single layer is suited to the larger width plow.
This 1” rubber edge is suited for the largest plows only, as it needs the plow’s weight to work the rubber correctly.
This next size rubber is even heavier per foot of length and it weighs a total of 51 pounds. The Deere Frontier edge remains the single 3/4” x 6” tall layer weighing 28 pounds.
A plow 10’ wide and weighing over 1,200 pounds can’t use the same rubber wear edge as a plow weighing 25% of this plows total weight. Yet the Deere plow continues to use the same size plow rubber on plows from 60” wide to 120” wide.
We do not subscribe to this same theory and feel the plows rubber edge should be increased as the plow’s width and weight increase. Our plow edge results bear out this fact with its excellent wear characteristics and long life.
Summary, our Extreme Duty rubber edge in our H.D. Plow Edge for the 120” plow is 1,” thick and outweighs the Deere layer by nearly twice the weight. When you see and feel the difference in the plow rubber, it becomes apparent which plow rubber is vastly superior………
Simple facts to keep in mind when buying plow edges for your Frontier Plow.
The larger (wider) the plow, the more its going to weigh.
As plows get wider, they generally get taller as well. Even small height increases add crucial weight which must be considered.
Deere’s rubber edge for their 72” plow is the same thickness and height as the rubber edge on their 120” plow. The 72” plow weighs 255 pounds. The 120” Frontier Plow weighs 1,180 to 1,320 pounds, which is a 1,000 pounds more than the 72” Plow.
While the Deere provided 3/4” plow rubber continues to support a plow weighing 300 pounds and also one weighing 1,300 pounds, This demonstrates how poorly suited for both of these plows this same rubber is at the same thickness level.
Carefully consider the plows size and weight in your plow edge selection and you will find that both of these assumptions can be quite incorrect. While the 3/4” rubber does work well on the 72” Frontier Plow it use alone on the 120” Frontier Plow is woefully inadequate.
On some plow sizes, our Heaviest Duty edge kit, the Extreme Duty edge, sells for about the same money which Deere charges for their only kit, which is lighter duty than our Standard Duty Kits.
These Rubber and UHMW Edge Kits are expensive. Don’t waste your money getting a lighter duty edge and spending more money to get it.
