John Deere Hitch Bail for MC519 cart, AM117623 or M122178

$295.00

Free Shipping via Ground Delivery is included with this part to the lower 48 states.

This is the steel hitch frame which connects the MC519 cart to the tractor. This part hooks over the rear bolts on the tractor on the INSIDE of the lower rear hitch frame area. This unit measures 15.5" wide across the mounting arms. This is the unit which mounts on the INSIDE of the rear frame rails.

Most people who have an MC519 Material Collection cart behind their garden tractor, know that the cart, when loaded with grass, is very heavy. If you drive through a ditch or other uneven surface where the tractor and MC cart are uneven, the bail will often twist and bend out of shape.

Once you heat the bail to straighten it, you also weaken it. It’s going to bend even easier next time. We tired of this and decided to solve the problem. How did we solve the problem? By building a better bail, which mounts in the same location as the old bail, but is much heavier, reinforced and won’t twist out of shape and make hooking to your tractor nearly impossible.

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION. These parts, AM117623 or the M122178 Deere Part numbers are no longer valid. If you order one of these from Deere, they will sell you the superseded part number, which is the AM125804.

  • Customer need to understand that when they order the OEM Part number AM125804, they are getting the part which requires them to change the mounting location on their tractor.

  • Deere's AM125804 is the base frame, 16.25" wide without any reinforcement and it weighs 50% lighter than our reinforced solution.

  • Deere's AM125804 retails for between $303.14 and $329.23, depending upon the dealer. Our improved part sells for less.

  • In summary, when John Deere sells you the replacement part under AM125804 for $303.14 to $329,23 they are selling you a part which is not reinforced and our improved part. So you end up with a part which is 50% LIGHTER IN Weight, does not have reinforcement and sells for more than our solution.

  • You are also required to mount the new bail from Deere on the Outside of your tractor’s frame, which requires you to change mounts, change position, hardware, etc. All of which increase your costs.

Here are the very important differences you need to be aware of when ordering these parts.

  1. AM117623 and M122178 are the bail which is 15.5" wide across the inside of the bail mounting arms. Please see the photo which shows the bail and the red arrow across the bail in this area.

  2. The 15.5" wide bail mounts inside of the rear frame rails using the bolts with the washers on the end of them.

  3. If you purchase and receive the AM125804 bail, you will have to change the mounting position on the tractor to the outside of the rear frame rails.

  4. If you desire to use the AM117623 or M122178 Bails like you have on your MC519 cart, you must purchase these bails from us.. We are making these parts in modern part numbers.

  5. We can offer you the reinforced bail for the 15.5" wide application as well as the reinforced bail for the 16.25" wide bail application. If you are unsure which is best for you, we can help and don't hesitate to ask.

  6. We are building BRAND NEW, re-engineered and improved bails for BOTH applications, the 15.5" which mounts inside of the rear frame and the 16.25" bail, which mounts on the outside of the frame rail.

  7. Our bails are reinforced and engineered to avoid the common damage which happens to cause owners to seek these replacement parts.

  8. Our bails are sold as painted or powder coated in the green color. Due to the reinforcement and heavier construction, our bails each weigh 50% more than the Deere parts.

We are building this bail BRAND NEW of superior steel and making the necessary changes to the unit to strengthen it, to prevent the bending damage which often occurs to this part. You know if you have driven your tractor through a road side ditch with the loaded MC cart cart on it, the tractor and the MC cart will twist and often, it bends the “bail”. Once you bend the bail, its very tough to straighten and not have it weakened in the process.

Our bail mounts inside of the rear frame rails of your tractor on the special bolts which have washers. Our part is NEW and produced to fill the need of the part which Deere has discontinued.

Please consider these important points about this unit AM117623 or M122178.

  1. Our part is NEW, built to replace the discontinued part.

  2. Our part is 50% heavier and is reinforced to prevent the twisting damage which commonly destroys these bails.

  3. Our part is the FRAME only, as shown, The hardware is NOT included. If you need the hardware, please contact us.

  4. On these two part numbers AM117623 and M122178, the sliding locking plates are on the INSIDE of the bail. This is the older style mount.

  5. You must use your locking plates and hardware to install on the new bail we are sending you, If you need the locking plates or hardware, we have them at an additional cost. Please indicate what you need.

  6. PLEASE contact us before ordering so we can make sure this part if right for YOUR machine. This part has been used on over 30 different model machines so we need to confirm it will work on YOUR tractor and MC cart.

Please note in the pictures where the old bail is stacked on top of the new bail and the old bail shows the common damage which occurs.

If your MC Cart mounts on the inside of the lower frame rails of the tractor, this part will mount in the same location. Please note, the locking brackets for this part are mounted on the inside of the frame unit as shown in the image from the parts book.

This part is reinforced across the rear of the bracket where it has been flexing and the bail is bending, making the mounting of the unit very difficult. The new bracket we are offering is more than double the steel strength of the original part which is damaged by bending.

Critical points about this new bail include the following;

If your tractor has the over lapping frame sections on the inside of the lower area where the bail mounts, please order the alternative bail which mounts on the OUTSIDE of the frame assembly.

The original bail was about 1/2" thick across the rear of the bail. This is shown on the photos below. The replacement bail is 3/4" of an inch thick across the back side of the bail, as shown in our pictures. This additional steel and bracing prevents the frame from bending from the load as shown.

This product is a permanent solution for the bail which is bending during use due to the steel frame flexing when the cart and tractor cross uneven ground. Please note, this bail is approximately 15.5" wide measured across the ends which hook onto the tractor mounting bolts.

PLEASE CONTACT US VIA A MESSAGE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ORDERING THIS BAIL UNIT. WE NEED TO DISCUSS SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MOUNTING OF THE BAIL ON THE TRACTOR TO MAKE SURE THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR YOU.

Thank You. We look forward to helping you find the solution for your MC519 cart mount. Please also read the listing and look at the photos for our our bail, to help understand the concerns which are causing damage to these bails.

We have a solution to solve this problem with a bail that is purpose built and superior to the OEM part. It's important we help you find the best solution for your tractors needs. Thank you for your interest in our custom made bail solutions.

Very important information about this part. It mounts ONLY on the inside of the lower frame and hitch area of your tractor. If you need the bail which mounts over the OUTSIDE of the rear frame of your tractor, please see our listing for the bail part number AM125804.

It’s very important that you take a couple of fairly close up pictures of the back of the lower hitch area on your tractor so we see if your tractor has the overlapping frame pieces which are responsible for causing the twisting damage of the bail. There is another solution for tractor owners who do not want to change their MC carts mounting position. We can discuss this alternative solution with you to see if there is an alternative approach to solve this problem.

Thank you for your interest in our products.
