Snowblowers with one Drift cutter annoy me and others, as they brought it to my attention. Deere sells some with one drift cutter others are delivered with no drift cutters. There is something unbalanced about a blower with just one drift cutter.
Deere sells the each for $50.
The blower looks like its missing something, damaged or unfinished with just one drift cutter.
Our online friend “@Firemark” on GTT, pointed this common annoyance our to me. I agreed, His K9 pal is also our friend ““Cooper” on our K9 friends site, so these bars became “Cooper Bars” in honor of Coopers dads suggestions. We are proud to offer them.
Dimensions
Cooper bars measure 1” thick, 1.25” wide and 21” tall and they mount on Quick Hitch Front mounted snowblowers. They include stainless hardware.
Deere sells these under part number M88984 for about $50 each bar for the Quick Hitch Front Mounted Deere Snowblowers. The Heavy Duty Front snowblowers are part number M142728 for the same price range. This listing is for the Quick Hitch Cooper Bars. Anyone needing a Heavy Duty blower Cooper bar, we have those listed on the Deere, front snowblower subsection.
If you aren’t sure which blower you have, our page “Blower I.D” points out the differences. The steel bars are powder coated or painted black. Our UHMW Cooper Bars come in a solid color of black and never need painting or finishing.
The point of the Drift Cutters or Cooper Bars is to cut deep snow above the blower and also provide a location of the blower front when its in very deep snow. I have had this happen a number of times where the Cooper bars were helpful.
These are for the Quick Hitch Blowers, We also offer Coopers for Heavy Duty Blowers, under part number M142728. The dimensions on the two bars are different. If you need a new Drift cutter bar pair, verify which blower you have.
Being UHMW our Cooper bars are somewhat flexible if they strike a mailbox base or other object as the UHMW will flex slightly. We like making them out of UHMW as they don’t need painting, can’t chip, will never rust and shouldn’t bend or be damaged. They are TOUGH.
Our Cooper Bars are 1” thick and 21” long and 1.25” wide. The “width” mounts on the front corner of the snowblowers and these extend vertically to help slice deep snow and get snow to drop down in front of the blower.
A simple item doing a simple task. But a pair of Cooper bars looks better than a One Drift Cutter snowblower.
Often, the tops of these Drift Cutters bump into mailboxes, fences, and other items when the blower is clearing snow around them. The metal drift cutters can get scratched up and often bent. Many times, they aren’t installed on the blowers.
If you would like to have a PAIR of Cooper Bars, which are made of UHMW and bolt to your blower, this is the order for the Quick Hitch Snowblowers.
If you have a Heavy Duty Snowblower, please see our Heavy Duty Blower Section. Our Heavy Duty Blowers use “Super Coopers”, which are longer and mount differently. Incidentally our Super Coopers are 2.6” thick, 1.2” wide and 21” long, so they are a bit “beefier” for the Heavy Duty Blowers.
Cooper Bars. lots of handy uses and a very strong and stiff wear resistant wear bar which is used in this application as a vertical locator for the ends of the blower and to help break up deep snow, to get it through the blower.
Thanks for interest in our products. Please let us know if you have any questions or need assistance. In the meantime, if you have a product you would like to see us consider making, drop us a message with your idea. We like creative input and suggestions from our clients.
Thanks @FireMark and Cooper. We appreciate your input.
